Groundsman and/or Climber

We are seeking a hardworking, honest Groundsman to support a small tree company with residential removals, tree trimming, and storm cleanup. This role involves heavy lifting and offers outstanding pay for the right applicant, with opportunities to learn, contribute, and grow with the company. Experience is a plus, but we are willing to train the right person. This position will start as a 10-99 position and will move into a W2 after the first of the year.

Schedule and Employment Status

• This position will begin as part-time, averaging approximately three days per week, depending on workload and weather.
• Our current workload varies, so hours may fluctuate. Additional hours may become available as the business grows as well as an increase in pay.
• The position is initially planned as a 1099 arrangement, with a transition to W-2 employment after January 1, subject to the applicable employment classification requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist with residential tree removals, tree trimming, storm cleanup, and other tree services.
• Clean up tree debris and remove brush from work sites.
• Haul debris and maintain orderly, safe job sites.
• Handle equipment and maintain tools in working condition.
• Load and move materials, including performing heavy lifting.
• Follow safety procedures during all tree-care operations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Dependable, punctual, and willing to work hard.
• Physically capable of heavy lifting and outdoor labor in varying weather conditions.
• Able to follow directions and work effectively as part of a team.
• A valid driver's license is preferred.
• Previous tree-service, landscaping, construction, or groundsman experience is a plus, but not required. We are willing to train the right person.
