Prepress Mac Operator Duties and Responsibilities
• File Preflighting: Inspect incoming client or designer files for correct fonts, high-resolution images,
bleeds, color spaces (CMYK/Spot), and trapping.
• Artwork Optimization & Editing: Modify, rebuild, or adjust electronic files in software like Adobe
InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
• Color Management & Proofing: Generate digital or hardcopy proofs, manage ICC profiles, calibrate RIP
(Raster Image Processor) systems, and maintain color accuracy.
• Collaboration & Support: Communicate directly with clients, customer service representatives (CSRs).
Required Skills & Qualifications
Retouch images to a high standard.
Familiar with working on Artboards.
Proficient in RGB & CMYK color spectrum.
• Software Proficiency: Strong command of Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign,
Acrobat) and industry-specific workflows (such as Prinergy and Fiery).
• Technical Knowledge: Understanding of offset, digital, flexographic, or gravure printing processes, paper
stocks, dot gain, and finishing constraints.
• Output proof from Roland, Epson and Xerox
• Education & Experience: 3-5 years of hands-on prepress experience, paired with vocational training in
graphic arts, desktop publishing, or print technology.
• Attention to Detail: High precision in proofreading text, checking numbers, and managing tight
production schedules
Compensation and Hours
Shift: First (Start time 7:00 am is flexible)
Pay Rate: $30-$35 Hourly
