ABOUT THE TEAM
KRUSH Tech is an international technology company developing advanced hardware solutions for defense, aerospace, communications, and autonomous systems. We're launching our U.S. operations from the ground up, building a next-generation, vertically integrated aerospace organization focused on advanced uncrewed aircraft systems (UAS), autonomy, and sensing technologies for the U.S. market and strategic partners. Our teams work across RF, embedded systems, electronics, mechanical engineering, software, manufacturing, and supply chain to turn some of the industry's most demanding engineering challenges into reliable, production-ready solutions, combining the agility of a startup with the ambition to compete at the leading edge of UAS and autonomous systems.
ABOUT THE JOB
We are seeking an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to serve as the senior EHS authority at our advanced manufacturing facility in Austin, Texas, where we build next-generation uncrewed aircraft systems (UAS) and defense technologies. You will build, implement, and continuously improve the site's EHS and fire safety programs from the ground up, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and standards while fostering a strong culture of safety.
You will work closely with Manufacturing, Facilities, Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to keep production safe, compliant, and efficient in a high-technology aerospace manufacturing environment. This is a rare opportunity to shape the safety culture of a new U.S. manufacturing operation from day one.
Requirements
WHAT YOU'LL DO
•Build and lead the EHS management system for our Austin manufacturing site from scratch, including written programs, procedures, and documentation
•Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, TCEQ, fire code, and other federal, state, and local requirements across manufacturing, warehouse, and test operations
•Develop and maintain job hazard analyses, risk assessments, safe work procedures, and emergency action and response plans
•Establish and run a regular cadence of workplace inspections and audits, driving findings to closure through corrective and preventive actions
•Lead investigations of incidents, injuries, near misses, and environmental events using root cause analysis, and manage OSHA recordkeeping and reporting
•Build and deliver EHS training, including new hire safety orientation, hazard communication, lockout/tagout, PPE, powered industrial truck, and emergency response
•Oversee hazardous materials and waste programs, including chemical inventory, safety data sheets, waste generator compliance, air emissions, storm water, and the related permits and reports
•Lead fire and life safety readiness, including fire risk assessments, evacuation planning, drills, and coordination with the fire marshal on inspections and permits, with attention to lithium battery storage and handling
•Conduct industrial hygiene monitoring (such as noise, air quality, and composite dust and fumes) and manage respiratory protection, hearing conservation, and PPE programs
•Ensure machinery, electrical systems, safety devices, ventilation, and regulated equipment inspected, maintained, and operated safely
•Partner with Manufacturing, Engineering, Facilities, Quality, and Supply Chain to integrate EHS requirements into production planning, new equipment installation, and process changes
•Support the design, commissioning, and expansion of the facility and new production equipment from an EHS perspective
•Host and manage regulatory inspections and audits, and maintain productive relationships with agency representatives and insurance carriers
•Track and report EHS metrics and KPIs, and promote a strong safety culture through coaching, employee engagement, and continuous improvement
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
•7+ years of EHS experience in manufacturing, aerospace, defense, or another highly regulated industrial environment
•Strong working knowledge of OSHA general industry standards and recordkeeping, EPA and TCEQ requirements, and NFPA codes
•Experience building, scaling, or formalizing EHS programs in a startup, scale-up, or new facility
•Experience conducting incident investigations, root cause analysis, job hazard analyses, and risk assessments, and implementing corrective actions
•Working knowledge of hazard communication, lockout/tagout, machine guarding, confined space, working at height, electrical safety, and contractor safety
•Experience managing hazardous materials and hazardous waste programs, including generator requirements and spill prevention
•Experience developing EHS procedures and delivering employee training
