Operator – Assembly

Job Summary:

The Assembly Operator is responsible for assembling signs and other products and performing tasks such as taping, operating labeling machines, packing, and sorting. This role must work well both in a team environment and independently while supporting the production process. Requires problem-solving skills, the ability to work with both hands, handle parts typically weighing 5–10 lbs, and push and pull parts together and apart.

Responsibilities:

•Produces components by assembling parts and subassemblies according to instructions

•Positions or aligns components and parts manually

•Uses hand tools or machines to assemble parts

•Assembles signs and performs taping, labeling machine operation, packing, and sorting

•Communicates and educates operators toward quality standards

•Checks parts against the first piece placed at the cell by Quality Assurance

•Packs parts in boxes and labels them

•Cleans and maintains work area and equipment, including tools

•Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations

•Conserves resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results

•Reports production, quality, or assembly problems to the Assembly Supervisor

Skills/Qualifications:

• Follows instructions given by the Assembly Supervisor

•Maintains a safe work environment with a safety mindset

•Dexterity and hand-eye coordination, including the ability to grasp, manipulate, and assemble parts and components

Education and Experience:

•Previous related factory work or manufacturing experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:

•Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
