Job Summary
The Will Call Associate acts as the primary link between the warehouse inventory system and customers or contractors picking up orders on-site. This role pulls, stages, inspects, and dispenses will-call orders accurately and safely while maintaining clean and organized pickup areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Order Pulling & Staging: Retrieve, pick, and pack items from warehouse racks based on customer will-call tickets or digital orders.
- Customer Service: Greet customers, contractors, or couriers at the will-call counter or loading dock in a professional and helpful manner.
- Order Verification: Double-check product quantities, part numbers, and invoices against customer orders before handing them over to prevent errors.
- System & Paperwork Tracking: Process pick tickets, update inventory counts, and record transactions using a Warehouse Management System (WMS) or handheld barcode scanner.
- Loading & Handling: Assist customers with loading merchandise into vehicles or trailers, safely operating material-handling equipment like pallet jacks or forklifts.
- Inventory & Restocking: Report stock discrepancies, pull replacement stock from back-room storage, and keep the will-call staging area clean, tidy, and hazard-free.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: 1+ years of experience in a warehouse, shipping/receiving, or inventory control role.
- Technical Skills: Basic computer literacy and familiarity with WMS or inventory tracking scanners.
- Equipment: Ability or willingness to become certified to operate material-handling equipment (pallet jacks, hand trucks, or forklifts).
- Physical Demands: Ability to stand for long shifts, bend, reach, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Soft Skills: Strong communication, problem-solving under pressure, and a customer-first attitude.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
