Job Description
About this role

Join a commercial construction crew in Houston as a Carpenter responsible for delivering safe, high-quality work with strong craftsmanship and attention to detail. You'll work on slab-on-grade and multi-level projects performing framing, formwork, installation of building components, and finish carpentry while following plans and specifications. This role requires hands-on carpentry skills, the ability to read and interpret blueprints, and a commitment to job-site safety. Experienced carpenters may lead small crews, oversee installation quality, and help improve field execution. Expect a full-time schedule with early starts and occasional overtime depending on project needs.

What you'll do
  • Perform rough and finish carpentry including framing, formwork, layout, and installation of building components.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, measurements, and project specifications to lay out work accurately.
  • Set, build, and strip concrete forms; install blocking, framing, trim, doors, and other finish materials.
  • Maintain a safe, hazard-free work area by following site safety rules, using PPE, and participating in toolbox talks and site-specific training.
  • Coordinate with foremen, trades, and project teams to ensure quality installation and timely field execution.

What we're looking for
  • Previous commercial construction carpentry experience with framing and formwork.
  • Proven ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and measurements.
  • Strong measuring, cutting, layout, and tool-handling skills for general framing and finish work.
  • Physical ability to lift heavy materials, work at heights, and perform repetitive tasks in a construction environment.
  • Reliable transportation to Houston job sites and a professional approach to attendance and communication.

Qualifications
  • Experience in commercial construction, concrete formwork carpentry, and general framing carpentry.
  • Proficient in drawing reading/interpretation, technical drawing and blueprint interpretation, measuring and cutting.
  • Ability to pass a drug screen and background check if required; valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • OSHA 10 (preferred) or willingness to complete site-specific safety training; ability to communicate clearly on site.

What we offer
  • Health, dental, and vision options (where offered) and access to site-specific safety training.
  • Paid time off and holiday pay policies where applicable; steady project pipeline in the Houston area.
  • Opportunities for overtime and consistent hours on most projects.
  • On-the-job training, advancement opportunities, and mentorship for experienced carpenters who lead crews.
  • Tool and boot allowance or reimbursement programs and clear safety gear requirements.
