Dirtywork Environmental Services is seeking a dependable, hardworking Construction Laborer to join our field crew. We specialize in the installation and removal of propane tanks and the installation of propane and natural-gas connections throughout the Treasure Coast.

This is a physically demanding, hands-on outdoor position. Much of the work involves digging and backfilling trenches, preparing job sites, moving materials, and assisting with propane tank installations and removals. Employees work in small crews of one to five people under the direction of a Site Supervisor.

Previous propane or natural-gas experience is not required. This is a specialized area of construction, and we are willing to train someone who is dependable, safety-conscious, willing to learn, and not afraid of hard physical work.

  • Dig and backfill trenches for propane and natural-gas lines
  • Assist with the installation and removal of underground and aboveground propane tanks
  • Prepare job sites by clearing work areas and gathering necessary tools and materials
  • Load, unload, carry, and organize construction materials and equipment
  • Safely operate hand tools and other equipment after receiving proper training
  • Assist crew members throughout each stage of a project
  • Maintain tools and report damaged or malfunctioning equipment
  • Keep job sites, company vehicles, tools, and work areas clean and organized
  • Follow instructions and all required safety procedures
  • Promptly report mistakes, damage, safety concerns, or unexpected site conditions
  • Travel between job sites in company vehicles
  • Perform physically demanding work outdoors in Florida heat and changing weather conditions

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to reliably report to work on time Monday through Friday
  • Ability to work approximately 40 hours per week
  • Ability to lift and carry at least 50 pounds
  • Ability to repeatedly bend, kneel, lift, carry, push, pull, dig, and perform other physical tasks throughout the workday
  • Willingness and ability to work outdoors in heat, humidity, rain, and other changing weather conditions
  • Ability to follow instructions and work safely as part of a small crew
  • Honest, accountable, and willing to immediately report mistakes, damage, or safety concerns
  • Must report to work fit for duty and free from impairment by alcohol, cannabis, illegal drugs, misused medications, or any other substance that could affect workplace safety

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least one year of construction, underground utility, plumbing, excavation, landscaping, or other related labor experience
  • Experience performing manual excavation or trenching work
  • Familiarity with construction-site safety practices
  • Previous propane or natural-gas industry experience

Related experience is helpful but not required. Training will be provided to the right candidate.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Starting pay of $16 per hour
  • Full-time, Monday through Friday schedule
  • Approximately 40 hours per week
  • Company-provided uniforms
  • Transportation between job sites in company vehicles
  • Hands-on training in a specialized construction trade
  • Opportunities for increased responsibility and advancement

What We’re Looking For

The right candidate understands that this is active, physical outdoor work. We are looking for someone who arrives on time, works steadily, follows directions, takes safety seriously, and contributes to the crew. Experience can be taught. Dependability, honesty, accountability, and a willingness to work cannot.
