Morning Star Academy is seeking a dependable, hardworking, and service-minded individual to join our team as a
Part-Time Kitchen Support Staff member. This position supports the daily operation of our school kitchen by assisting with meal preparation, serving students, and maintaining a clean, safe, and organized environment.
The ideal candidate enjoys working behind the scenes, takes pride in a job well done, and has a heart for serving children and supporting our school community.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the Kitchen Manager with daily meal preparation, setup, and service.
- Prepare and portion food according to established menus and procedures.
- Wash dishes, sanitize surfaces, and maintain a clean and orderly kitchen and cafeteria.
- Assist with receiving, storing, and organizing food and kitchen supplies.
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and health department guidelines.
- Help ensure meals are served efficiently and on schedule.
- Assist with kitchen cleanup and other duties as assigned.
- Demonstrate a positive, helpful attitude that reflects Morning Star Academy's Christian mission and values.
Qualifications- Food service or kitchen experience preferred, but not required.
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to follow directions, manage multiple tasks, and work efficiently.
- Willingness to perform physical tasks, including standing for extended periods, lifting supplies, and cleaning.
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety.
- Positive attitude and genuine heart for serving children.
- Ability to meet applicable childcare licensing and background check requirements.
Position Details
- Schedule: Part-time, weekday daytime hours.
- Environment: Christian school serving children from infancy through elementary school.
- Reports to: Kitchen Manager.
