Direct Support Professional - Second Shift

Job Overview

Avenues is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our team in Dayton, Ohio. As a Direct Support Professional on the second shift, you will play a vital role in empowering individuals with developmental disabilities to live fulfilling, independent, and active lives within their communities.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct, person-centered care and support to individuals in daily living activities.
• Assist with meal planning, preparation, personal care, and household tasks.
• Support individuals in pursuing personal goals, hobbies, and community engagement activities during afternoon and evening hours.
• Administer medications and document healthcare routines according to established plans and protocols.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of daily activities, progress notes, and incident reports.
• Foster a safe, clean, and supportive living environment.

Qualifications & Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with reliable transportation.
• Ability to pass background checks and required drug screenings.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and active listening skills.
• Compassionate, reliable, patient, and dedicated mindset.
• Prior experience as a DSP or caregiver is preferred, but entry-level applicants willing to learn are encouraged to apply.
• CAT 1 Medication Administration certification and CPR certification (preferred)

Schedule & Compensation

• Position Type: Full-Time
• Shift: Second Shift (3:30-11:30 p.m./ 4 p.m.-12 a.m.)
• Hourly Rate: $14.50-15.50 per hour
