Job Description

The Telecommunication Quality Control Technician reports to the Field Operations Manager and supports quality control across fiber optic and copper networks, wireless infrastructure, and outside plant environments. This field-based role provides oversight for new installations, network upgrades, maintenance programs, and customer acceptance testing, with travel to field sites required most workweeks.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect cables and telecommunications infrastructure across fiber optic, copper, wireless, and outside plant environments.
  • Conduct quality audits for new installations, network upgrades, maintenance programs, and customer acceptance testing.
  • Verify installation work against project requirements and quality standards.
  • Monitor compliance with applicable telecommunications and safety requirements.
  • Perform regular field inspections at project sites.
  • Complete and maintain accurate test documentation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in telecommunications quality control.
  • OSHA 10 certification.
  • Experience with fiber optic testing and OTDR testing.
  • Knowledge of network troubleshooting and test equipment calibration.
  • Understanding of quality assurance practices.
  • Strong technical documentation skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
