Press Brake Operator

Job Title: CNC / Press Brake Operator - $22-30/Hour

Job Description

This role involves operating a press brake to form steel, aluminum, and stainless steel sheets according to precise specifications. You will handle materials throughout the production process, use measuring tools to verify accuracy, and support order preparation to ensure high-quality parts are delivered on time.

Responsibilities

• Operate a press brake to bend and form sheets of steel, aluminum, and stainless steel according to production specifications and blueprints.
• Load and unload metal sheets and parts from the press brake and other machines in a safe and efficient manner.
• Use a belt sander and grinder to clean, deburr, and finish parts to meet quality standards.
• Label parts clearly and accurately to ensure correct identification and traceability throughout the production process.
• Prepare orders by organizing, staging, and packaging finished parts for shipment or next-stage processing.
• Read and interpret blueprints and work instructions to set up machines and complete jobs correctly.
• Use micrometers and other precision measuring tools to verify part dimensions and maintain tight tolerances.
• Operate CNC equipment and related machinery as required to support production needs.
• Follow all safety procedures when using hand tools, power tools, forklifts, and machinery.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area by removing debris, cleaning equipment surfaces, and properly storing tools and materials.

Essential Skills

• Demonstrated press brake operating experience in a manufacturing or metal fabrication environment.
• Proficiency in machine operating, including setup, adjustment, and basic troubleshooting of production equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints to produce accurate parts.
• Experience using micrometers and other precision measurement tools to verify dimensions.
• Strong precision measurement skills with attention to detail and quality.
• Comfort handling sheets of steel, aluminum, and stainless steel safely and efficiently.
• Experience operating CNC equipment or willingness to work with CNC-controlled machinery.
• Capability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, carrying, and moving metal materials throughout the shift.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience using hand tools and power tools in a production or fabrication setting.
• Forklift operating experience for moving materials and finished products.
• Familiarity with belt sanders and grinders for cleaning and finishing metal parts.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced production environment.

Work Environment

You will work in a non-climate-controlled production facility where temperatures can vary and may be hot, cold, or otherwise affected by the weather. The environment can be dirty due to metal fabrication processes, including grinding, sanding, and handling raw materials. You will regularly work around industrial machinery, including press brakes, CNC equipment, forklifts, belt sanders, grinders, and other hand and power tools. Appropriate work attire will focus on safety and durability, suitable for a heavy industrial, metal fabrication setting.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Shepherdsville, KY.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.50/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
