Product Support Engineer

Job Title: Product Support Engineer Location: Oxford, Georgia Type: Direct Hire Work Model: Onsite-Travel Required System One is is seeking a customer-focused Product Support Engineer/Technical Service Engineer for our manufacturing client. This person will serve as the bridge between technical sales, field service, and customer support. This hybrid role supports customers throughout the entire lifecycle, from application review and quotation development to onsite troubleshooting, installation support, and process optimization.

The ideal candidate has experience with industrial manufacturing, field service, applications engineering, or technical sales, and can confidently diagnose equipment issues, develop technical proposals, and build strong customer relationships. Experience with extrusion equipment, plastics processing, melt filtration systems, or related industrial machinery is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical inside sales support and develop quotations, budgets, and proposals for parts, service, and engineered equipment solutions.
• Evaluate customer applications and recommend appropriate products and process improvements.
• Travel to customer facilities to perform equipment inspections, troubleshooting, startup support, maintenance assistance, and process optimization.
• Diagnose mechanical, thermal, hydraulic, pneumatic, and extrusion-related performance issues.
• Serve as the technical liaison between customers, sales, engineering, operations, manufacturing, and suppliers.
• Support order handoff, project coordination, and issue resolution from inquiry through execution.
• Document service activities, recommendations, and follow-up actions while maintaining accurate CRM and ERP records.
• Identify opportunities for additional products and services while strengthening long-term customer relationships.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a technical discipline preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5+ years of experience in field service, industrial maintenance, manufacturing/process engineering, applications engineering, technical sales, or customer support.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, schematics, specifications, and technical documentation.
• Experience preparing technical quotations, estimates, and proposals.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM/ERP systems.
• Valid driver's license required; passport preferred.

Travel

• Approximately 50% travel throughout North America, including overnight trips and occasional after-hours customer support.
