Job Description

Job Description: Principal Software Engineer

(Pega, AI & Full-Stack Architecture)

Location: Dallas, TX (On-site)

Type: Contract

Experience Level: Principal (10+ Years)

Role Summary

We are seeking a visionary Principal Software Engineer to lead the design, architecture, and implementation of a next-generation enterprise automation platform. This is a high-impact role designed for a technical leader who thrives at the intersection of Low-Code orchestration and High-Code innovation.

The ideal candidate will serve as the technical authority for the Pega ecosystem, specifically driving the adoption of Pega Constellation to deliver modern, high-performance user experiences. You will bridge the gap between Pega’s orchestration capabilities and custom-built microservices using .NET and Python, while pioneering the integration of Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs) to create "intelligent" automated workflows.

Key Responsibilities

Architectural Leadership & Pega Strategy

· Define the technical roadmap for enterprise-scale Pega implementations, moving beyond traditional UI toward the Pega Constellation architecture.

· Design hybrid architectures that seamlessly integrate Pega’s business logic layer with custom-built frontend components and backend microservices.

· Establish best practices for Case Management, Data Modeling, and Integration patterns within the Pega Infinity platform.

Full-Stack & Frontend Innovation

· Lead the development of sophisticated, highly responsive user interfaces using Angular, ensuring they meet modern UX/UI standards and integrate flawlessly with Pega Constellation.

· Architect and develop robust, scalable backend services and APIs using .NET (C#) and Python to support complex business logic and data processing.

· Oversee the lifecycle of API development (RESTful/GraphQL) to ensure seamless communication between Pega, legacy systems, and new microservices.

AI & LLM Integration

· Architect and implement AI-driven features within enterprise workflows, leveraging LLMs (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, or open-source models via LangChain/LlamaIndex).

· Develop RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) patterns to allow Pega-driven processes to interact intelligently with enterprise knowledge bases.

· Lead the experimentation and deployment of Agentic workflows, where AI agents perform autonomous tasks within the Pega orchestration layer.

Technical Mentorship & Governance

· Act as a hands-on mentor to senior and mid-level engineers, conducting deep-dive code reviews and architectural critiques.

· Drive engineering excellence by implementing CI/CD pipelines, automated testing strategies, and robust DevOps practices for both Pega and pro-code environments.

· Collaborate with Product Owners and stakeholders to translate complex business requirements into scalable technical specifications.

Required Technical Skills

· Pega Ecosystem: Expert-level experience with Pega Infinity, specifically Pega Constellation and its design principles. Deep understanding of Case Management, Data Pages, and Integration Designer.

· Frontend Mastery: Advanced proficiency in Angular (latest versions), TypeScript, RxJS, and modern CSS/SCSS.

· Backend Development: Proven experience building enterprise-grade applications using .NET (Core/C#) and Python.

· AI/ML Engineering: Practical experience building with LLMs, prompt engineering, and frameworks like LangChain or LlamaIndex. Understanding of vector databases (e.g., Pinecone, Milvus, or Weaviate).

· Integration & API: Expert knowledge of RESTful API design, OAuth2, and asynchronous messaging patterns.

· Cloud & DevOps: Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).

Preferred Qualifications

· Pega Certified Lead System Architect (LSA) or similar high-level certification.

· Experience in "Composable Architecture"breaking down monolithic workflows into modular, reusable services.

· Background in data engineering or working with large-scale data pipelines to feed AI models.

· Experience in highly regulated industries (FinTech, Healthcare, or Insurance) where security and compliance are paramount.

Soft Skills

· Strategic Thinking: Ability to see the "big picture" and how individual technical choices impact long-term business goals.

· Communicator: Ability to explain complex technical concepts (like LLM latency or Constellation rendering) to non-technical stakeholders.

· Problem Solver: A passion for solving "impossible" integration challenges.
