Job Description
We are looking for a Logistics Analyst to support transportation planning and supply chain operations for a manufacturing environment in Parsippany, New Jersey. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who can evaluate shipping activity, improve load planning decisions, and work closely with cross-functional partners to keep materials moving efficiently. The role calls for strong analytical thinking, clear communication, and the ability to contribute to both daily execution and process improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities:
• Analyze transportation demand, shipment patterns, and capacity constraints to build efficient load plans that align with business needs.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external logistics partners to manage timely movement of materials and resolve delivery-related issues.
• Use transportation management systems and supporting tools to monitor loads, maintain accurate records, and improve planning accuracy.
• Review operational data and performance trends to identify opportunities for cost control, service improvements, and network efficiency.
• Partner with supply chain and operations stakeholders to address exceptions, adjust plans, and support uninterrupted product flow.
• Prepare reports and dashboards in Excel and other systems to track key logistics metrics and communicate findings to leadership.
• Contribute to continuous improvement efforts involving transportation workflows, system usage, and planning processes.
• Provide day-to-day guidance within logistics activities by promoting collaboration, accountability, and effective execution across the team.• Bachelor’s degree preferred, ideally in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field.
• Strong background in transportation, logistics, or supply chain planning within a complex operating environment.
• Advanced analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make sound operational recommendations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for reporting, analysis, and logistics planning support.
• Experience working with transportation management systems and other relevant supply chain software.
• Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across functions and with external partners.
• Demonstrated leadership capability, including experience motivating others and helping drive team performance.
