Job Description

The General Laborer supports day-to-day operations by performing a variety of manual tasks, including material handling, production assistance, and facility upkeep. This role helps maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while supporting production teams and adhering to established safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Handle manual labor tasks such as heavy lifting, moving materials, and performing general cleanup throughout the facility.
• Support production activities by assisting machine operators and processing teams with daily workflow and basic operational needs.
• Perform facility maintenance duties, including keeping the work area, shop floor, and surrounding grounds clean, organized, and free of hazards.
• Follow all safety guidelines and procedures, including the proper use of required protective gear and adherence to company safety policies.
• Use hand tools and basic equipment as needed to support assembly, production, and maintenance tasks.
• Assist with forklift-related activities when trained and authorized, such as moving pallets or materials safely within the facility.
• Help maintain an orderly work environment by organizing materials, disposing of waste properly, and reporting any unsafe conditions.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure production goals are met while maintaining quality and safety standards.

Essential Skills

• Ability to perform general labor tasks, including heavy lifting and prolonged standing during shifts.
• Experience with assembly and production support in a warehouse, manufacturing, or industrial setting is helpful.
• Basic proficiency in using hand tools for routine tasks and minor adjustments.
• Familiarity with forklift operation and machine operating support, with willingness to follow training and safety guidelines.
• Strong work ethic demonstrated through reliable attendance, punctuality, and readiness to perform varied tasks.
• Commitment to following safety procedures and wearing required protective gear at all times.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience in warehouse, manufacturing, or industrial environments is an advantage but not required for entry-level candidates.
• Willingness to learn new tasks and support different areas of the facility as operational needs change.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team to complete assigned duties efficiently.
• Comfort working in a physically demanding role that involves frequent movement and manual handling of materials.

This is a Contract position based out of Pell City, AL.

The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $16.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
