Job Description

The General Laborer supports daily production and construction activities by working with hand and power tools, handling rebar in concrete or construction settings, and assisting throughout the plant as needed. This role requires accurate measurement using a tape measure, the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and a willingness to perform a variety of tasks in an industrial environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform general labor tasks to support production and construction operations.
• Work safely and effectively with hand tools and power tools for concrete and construction-related activities.
• Handle and position rebar for use in concrete or construction projects.
• Accurately read and utilize a tape measure, including measurements down to a quarter of an inch.
• Assist with loading materials and products as required.
• Follow basic blueprints and work instructions once trained.
• Help around the plant wherever needed to maintain efficient workflow.
• Carry, move, and lift materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Perform repetitive tasks while maintaining quality and consistency.
• Adhere to all safety guidelines and maintain a clean and organized work area in a dirty, concrete-focused environment.

Essential Skills

• Proven ability to perform general labor tasks in an industrial, construction, or production environment.
• Ability to work confidently with hand tools and power tools.
• Experience working with rebar in construction or concrete-related work is strongly preferred.
• Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure, including measurements down to a quarter of an inch.
• Capability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
• Comfort working in a non-climate-controlled environment, both indoors and outdoors.
• Ability to learn and follow basic blueprints and detailed directions.
• Comfort with repetitive work while maintaining attention to detail and safety.
• Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with industrial, construction, production, or carpentry settings.

Work Environment

The role is based in a plant environment that includes both indoor and outdoor work in a non-climate-controlled setting. The work area can be dirty due to regular handling of concrete and related materials, and tasks are often repetitive and physically demanding. You work with hand and power tools, rebar, and other construction and production equipment, following safety guidelines in an industrial atmosphere. Dress appropriately for a rugged, concrete-focused environment where you may be exposed to dust, dirt, and varying temperatures.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fuquay Varina, NC.

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $23.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
