Cabling Technician

Insight Global is seeking ISP Structured Cabling Technicians to support a large-scale data center infrastructure project in Childress, Texas. These individuals will be responsible for the installation, routing, dressing, termination, patching, and testing of structured cabling throughout the data center environment.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with fiber optic and copper cabling and be comfortable performing cable installation from start to finish. Candidates should be able to read and interpret cable diagrams, schematics, blueprints, cable schedules, and technical drawings to properly route and install cabling according to project specifications.

Required Skills & Experience

• 2+ years of structured cabling, telecommunications, or data center cabling experience
• Experience routing and dressing cable within racks, cabinets, cable trays, and pathways
• Experience patching and terminating fiber and copper cabling
• Ability to read and interpret cable diagrams, schematics, blueprints, cable schedules, and technical drawings
• Strong understanding of proper cable management, labeling, routing, and installation standards
• Experience working with both fiber optic and copper structured cabling

Preferred Skills & Experience

• Hands-on experience using OTDRs, Fluke testers, XFO testers, optical power meters, VFLs, or similar testing equipment
• Experience troubleshooting failed cable runs and physical-layer connectivity issues
• Fiber termination experience
• Experience with high-density fiber installations
