Job Description

Job Description

Outside Sales Representative (OSR)

BIOS Technologies | Baton Rouge, LouisianaFull-Time | B2B Sales | Managed IT Services

About BIOS Technologies

BIOS Technologies is an established managed IT services company helping businesses take control of their technology, reduce risk, and operate with greater confidence.

We believe there’s a significant difference between technology that’s working and technology that’s well-managed.

Our approach goes beyond fixing problems when they occur. We help business leaders understand the condition of their IT environment, identify risks, establish priorities, and make informed decisions without having to become technology experts themselves.

We’re looking for an Outside Sales Representative who shares our business-first approach to developing relationships and winning new clients.

The Opportunity

This isn’t a traditional technology sales position.

We’re looking for a motivated, relationship-driven salesperson who enjoys opening doors, meeting business owners and executives, and creating opportunities through their own initiative.

This is a new-business sales role that requires consistent, self-directed prospecting. While you’ll have access to company resources and support, you’ll be expected to actively generate your own opportunities through outreach, networking, referrals, and relationship development.

You’ll be responsible for building a pipeline, leading consultative sales conversations, and helping prospective clients determine whether BIOS is the right partner for their organization.

You don’t need to be a technical expert. You do need to be curious, confident, disciplined, and comfortable initiating meaningful conversations with business decision-makers.

Success in this role comes from creating opportunities, understanding the business before recommending a solution, and consistently moving qualified prospects through the sales process.

What You’ll Do

Prospect and Develop New Business

  • Take ownership of generating new business opportunities through consistent, proactive prospecting.
  • Identify and engage prospective clients throughout the Baton Rouge area.
  • Conduct outbound outreach through phone calls, email, networking, referrals, and in-person relationship building.
  • Establish relationships with business owners, executives, and key decision-makers.
  • Build and maintain a healthy pipeline of self-generated and company-provided opportunities.
  • Represent BIOS at business events, networking organizations, and community functions.
  • Consistently meet prospecting, pipeline development, and new-business performance expectations.

Lead Consultative Sales Conversations

  • Conduct discovery meetings to understand how prospective clients operate, their business priorities, and their current IT challenges.
  • Ask thoughtful questions that uncover operational concerns, security risks, and gaps in IT management.
  • Challenge assumptions respectfully and help prospects consider issues they may not have previously recognized.
  • Understand each prospect’s decision-making process, financial expectations, and motivation for change.
  • Determine whether a prospect is a good fit for BIOS before advancing the opportunity.

Manage the Sales Process

  • Own opportunities from initial qualification through proposal, negotiation, and close.
  • Coordinate with BIOS leadership and technical resources to develop appropriate solutions.
  • Present recommendations in business terms, focusing on outcomes rather than technical features.
  • Maintain accurate opportunity records, activities, and forecasts in our CRM.
  • Establish clear next steps and maintain momentum throughout the sales process.
  • Work with our operations team to ensure a smooth transition from sales to client onboarding.

What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Demonstrated success in B2B sales, business development, or consultative selling.
  • Proven ability and willingness to generate new business through independent prospecting.
  • Comfortable initiating conversations with prospective clients through cold outreach, networking, and referrals.
  • Confidence engaging business owners, executives, and senior decision-makers.
  • Strong communication, listening, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to ask meaningful questions and understand business challenges.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and accountable for results.
  • Ability to manage a sales pipeline and follow a structured sales process.
  • Willingness to meet prospects face-to-face throughout the Baton Rouge area.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience selling managed IT services, professional services, cybersecurity, telecommunications, or other recurring B2B services.
  • Established professional relationships within the Baton Rouge business community.
  • Experience selling to small and midsize organizations.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and sales forecasting.
  • Experience managing opportunities involving multiple decision-makers.

Technical experience is helpful, but not required. We’re more interested in your ability to create opportunities, understand business problems, develop trust, and guide productive conversations.

What Makes Someone Successful at BIOS

Our best salesperson won’t necessarily be the person who talks the most or knows the most about technology.

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Enjoys prospecting and takes personal responsibility for building their pipeline.
  • Is naturally curious and listens more than they talk.
  • Has the confidence to initiate conversations and ask difficult questions without becoming confrontational.
  • Understands that building trust requires more than being likable.
  • Can engage business owners in conversations about risk, accountability, and business priorities.
  • Knows when to pursue an opportunity and when to walk away.
  • Is comfortable being held accountable to measurable sales activities and results.
  • Values long-term client relationships over short-term transactions.
  • Is coachable and committed to improving their sales skills.

What BIOS Offers

  • The opportunity to represent an established managed IT services company.
  • A differentiated service offering built around proactive IT management, security, accountability, and business alignment.
  • Direct access to company leadership and experienced technical resources.
  • A structured sales process, ongoing coaching, and professional development.
  • The opportunity to build lasting relationships with business owners and executives.
  • Competitive compensation with performance-based earning potential.

Specific compensation, commission structure, and benefits will be discussed during the hiring process.

Why Join BIOS?

Many businesses believe their technology is in good shape simply because everything appears to be working.

We help them look deeper.

At BIOS, you’ll have the opportunity to introduce business leaders to a different way of thinking about IT management, one built around visibility, accountability, and measurable results.

If you’re a self-motivated salesperson who enjoys opening doors, building relationships, asking great questions, and helping businesses make better decisions, we’d like to meet you.
