Job Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented Purchasing Agent to support material procurement and vendor coordination in Louisville, Kentucky. This contract opportunity with potential for a permanent role is ideal for someone who can manage purchasing activities efficiently, maintain accurate order records, and help ensure materials are available to meet operational needs. The person in this role will work closely with internal teams and suppliers to keep purchasing processes organized, timely, and cost-conscious.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee day-to-day procurement tasks to ensure materials and supplies are ordered in alignment with business needs.
• Create, review, and track purchase orders while maintaining accurate documentation throughout the purchasing cycle.
• Coordinate with vendors to confirm pricing, product availability, delivery schedules, and order status.
• Monitor incoming material requests and prioritize purchasing activities to support operational timelines.
• Maintain organized purchasing records and assist the department with reporting and order follow-up.
• Communicate with internal stakeholders to clarify specifications, quantities, and delivery requirements for requested items.
• Support the purchasing department by identifying process issues, resolving order discrepancies, and helping improve workflow efficiency.• Experience performing purchasing functions in a business, manufacturing, or distribution environment.
• Working knowledge of purchase order processing and material procurement practices.
• Ability to manage multiple purchasing activities with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective communication skills for working with suppliers and internal departments.
