Software Engineer NET

ChargerBack helps organizations manage lost-and-found reports and return recovered items to their owners. Our software supports real-world workflows for partners and their customers, including item reporting, administration, notifications, and shipping.

Employment Type: On site preferred but we will consider the remote options as well.

We’re looking for a practical software engineer to build and improve ChargerBack’s web applications, APIs, and internal services. You’ll work across a mature production platform and newer servicesdelivering features, integrating with external systems, and helping us modernize the codebase incrementally while keeping existing workflows reliable.

.What you’ll do

• Build, maintain, and improve web applications and backend services using C# and .NET.
• Develop and support REST APIs, background processes, and integrations with shipping and other third-party services.
• Work with SQL Server, including queries, stored procedures, and application data models.
• Contribute to cloud-hosted services and deployment workflows, primarily in Azure.
• Write and maintain automated tests; investigate defects and improve reliability and maintainability.
• Navigate a mix of established and newer code, making focused improvements without disrupting production behavior.
• Collaborate with teammates and stakeholders to turn business needs into clear, supportable software.

What we’re looking for

• Professional experience building and supporting production software.
• Experience with C# and .NET, plus a solid understanding of APIs and backend application design.
• Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
• Familiarity with automated testing, source control, and collaborative development practices.
• Good debugging skills and the ability to work comfortably in an existing codebase.
• Clear communication and sound judgment about when to improve existing systems versus introduce new approaches.

Helpful experience

• ASP.NET and/or legacy ASP.NET applications; familiarity with VB.NET is a plus.
• Azure services such as App Service, Key Vault, or Blob Storage.
• Third-party integrations, shipping or logistics systems, and background processing.
• JavaScript, HTML, and CSS for working across web application layers.
• CI/CD workflows and test frameworks such as xUnit.
