Compensation:

$60,000 - $65,000 per year


Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate and underwrite Personal Auto and Homeowners risks, determining acceptance, modification, or rejection in accordance with company underwriting guidelines, authority levels, and regulatory requirements.
  • Review and assess exceptions submitted by agents, making sound underwriting decisions on risks that fall outside standard guidelines.
  • Analyze and process policy change requests to ensure continued compliance with underwriting standards and eligibility requirements.
  • Evaluate underwriting alerts, claims activity, and other risk-related information to determine appropriate renewal actions and risk management outcomes.
  • Provide timely, professional service by responding to agent and customer inquiries via phone, email, and written correspondence.
  • Exercise sound judgment in underwriting decisions while adhering to established procedures, underwriting authority, and departmental service standards.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records to support underwriting decisions and ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Personal lines underwriting experience required; 2+ years preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize work, manage multiple responsibilities, and make sound decisions.
  • Demonstrated analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while managing responsibilities independently.
  • Self-motivated with a strong sense of accountability and initiative.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and other business technology systems.
  • Must maintain a primary residence and work location in Wisconsin and be authorized to perform all job duties within the state, consistent with company operational and compliance requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate degree from an accredited college or technical school, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Additional insurance-related education, coursework, or industry training.
  • Interest in pursuing professional insurance designations or continuing education.
  • Bilingual communication skills, including Spanish or Hmong.
