Pay: $18.00 to $25.00 per hour, depending on experience

We encourage current college students and recent graduates in drafting, engineering, construction management, or related fields to apply. No previous HVAC experience is required. We're willing to train someone who is detail-oriented, motivated, and eager to learn.

Gillette Heating and Air is growing our Residential New Construction department and looking for an HVAC Drafting Assistant to support the preparation of technical drawings and residential HVAC layouts.

• Prepare, modify, and update residential HVAC drawings and layouts

• Assist with drafting ductwork designs and equipment placement for new construction projects

• Review construction plans and incorporate changes into technical drawings

• Work with designers and project managers to ensure drawings are accurate and complete

• Help maintain organized drawing files, revisions, and project documentation

• Learn HVAC design standards, drafting procedures, and applicable building requirements

• Support the drafting team with additional project-related tasks as needed

• Interest in drafting, technical design, engineering, or construction

• Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate work

• Basic math, computer, and problem-solving skills

• Ability to read or willingness to learn construction plans and technical drawings

• Strong organization and ability to manage multiple assignments

• Willingness to accept feedback, learn new software, and develop technical skills

• Ability to work independently while collaborating with a team

• Good communication skills and dependable work habits

Preferred, but Not Required:

• Coursework or training in drafting, CAD, engineering, architecture, or construction management

• Familiarity with AutoCAD or similar drafting software

• Experience reading blueprints or construction drawings

• Basic understanding of residential construction or mechanical systems

Previous HVAC drafting experience is not required. Training will be provided.
