Job Title: Seasonal Clothing Sorter – Production Team Member

Classification: Seasonal Part-Time/Full-Time, Non-Exempt

Reports to: Logistics & Production Manager/Other Assigned Manager

Job Summary:

The Seasonal Clothing Sorter is a vital part of our thrift production team. In this role, the team member is responsible for sorting incoming clothing donations and identifying appropriate clothing categories.

This is a fast-paced, volume-driven position that requires attention to detail, good judgment, efficiency, and the ability to work productively as part of a team. Team members will be expected to remain standing throughout their scheduled shifts, which may be up to eight hours per day, with appropriate breaks, and perform repetitive sorting activities.

Both full-time and part-time seasonal positions are available.

Essential Job Functions:

1. Sort incoming clothing donations efficiently and accurately according to Liberty Thrift standards and procedures.
2. Categorize clothing by type, including men's, women's, children's, and other designated clothing classifications.
3. At times, identify damaged, stained, excessively worn, or otherwise unsalable clothing and separate items for recycling or other designated processing.
4. Maintain an organized, clean, and safe sorting workstation.
5. Follow established procedures for handling, sorting, and organizing incoming clothing donations.
6. Meet established daily production goals while maintaining accuracy and quality standards.
7. Work cooperatively with other team members and supervisors to maintain an efficient and productive workflow.
8. Assist with other clothing production activities as needed.
9. Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

1. Must be able to stand for extended periods, up to eight hours per shift, with scheduled breaks.
2. Must be able to perform repetitive hand and arm movements associated with sorting clothing throughout the workday.
3. Must be able to bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, and lift up to 30–50 lbs. pounds as required.
4. Must be able to communicate effectively in English, including basic reading, writing, and counting.
5. Must be able to recognize and distinguish different clothing types, categories, and conditions.
6. Must take direction well while also being able to work independently and remain motivated and productive.
7. Must demonstrate good organizational skills, attention to detail, and sound judgment.
8. Must be dependable, punctual, and able to maintain consistent productivity in a fast-paced environment.
9. Must be neat in appearance and practice good personal hygiene.
10. Must be supportive of working for a Christian Ministry and respectful of the Mission Statements of Liberty Thrift and Liberty Ministries.
11. Must be willing and able to assist in other production-related capacities as needed.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required:

Previous experience in clothing sorting, thrift production, warehouse operations, or similar work is preferred but not required. Training will be provided.

Ability to recognize clothing categories, maintain an organized workstation, and work efficiently in a team-oriented production environment is desirable.

Employment Details:

These are seasonal positions with both full-time and part-time schedules available. Work involves standing for extended periods and performing repetitive clothing sorting tasks in a production environment.
