About the Role

The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment throughout the community. This position supports daily cleaning, sanitation, and general upkeep while following established safety and infection control practices.

Reports to: Executive Director and Maintenance Director

What You'll Do

• Clean and sanitize resident rooms, bathrooms, common areas, hallways, and offices.

• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain floors, including stripping, waxing, and buffing as needed.

• Clean windows, mirrors, carpets, and other surfaces.

• Empty trash and properly dispose of waste, including infectious materials, in accordance with community procedures.

• Restock housekeeping supplies and communicate inventory needs.

• Follow infection control and isolation cleaning procedures.

• Use cleaning products and equipment safely and according to established guidelines.

• Identify and promptly report maintenance concerns or potential safety hazards.

What You'll Need

• No prior housekeeping experience requiredwe will train you!

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

• Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic.

• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

• Ability to perform the physical duties of the position, including standing, walking, bending, and using cleaning equipment.

• Must meet applicable background screening requirements, including eligibility under Illinois healthcare worker regulations.

Bonus Skills

• Previous housekeeping or janitorial experience is a plus.

• Experience with lawn care or outdoor maintenance is a plus.
