ENROLLMENT OPERATIONS ASSOCIATE

POSITION SUMMARY

The Fresh Air Fund is recruiting Enrollment Operations Associates to work on the Enrollment team under the supervision of the Director of Enrollment and Outreach Manager. Enrollment Operations Associates will assist with all aspects of the application process for families to register for our summer programs. This is a part-time “at-will” position for the period November 2026 through March 2027, with the potential for extension based on organizational needs.

The Enrollment Operations Associatewill help with all aspects of the application process including communication with NYC parents to complete child applications.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with application review and completion processing
  • Review applications for children who may have additional needs or special circumstances
  • Communicate with parent/guardian and outreach partners regarding the application process
  • Assist parents to complete applications by contacting teachers or service providers
  • Manage a high volume of phone calls regarding summer programs, application process and child application status
  • Communicate and assist parents with completing applications in person and over the phone
  • Assist with conducting virtual/ in-person information and orientation sessions regarding summer programs
  • Implement department recruitment strategies, which may include:
  • Prepare materials for community partners and recruitment events
  • Staff events and tabling at various agencies
  • Might require travelling to different boroughs within New York City by public transportation
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be 18+ years of age.
  • Strong organizational skills and detail oriented.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Comfort speakingwith families and professionals alike
  • Patient and friendly, with a high degree of professionalism.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Ability to work quickly andaccurately.
  • Bilingual and fluency in languages other than English a plus (e.g. Spanish, Mandarin, ASL).
  • Interest in joining a youth development organization and supporting its mission and vision.
  • As part of our commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy workplace, The Fresh Air Fund requires all employees to meet applicable vaccination requirements in accordance with federal, state, and local laws. As new public health issues arise, The Fresh Air Fund may require additional vaccinations. Proof of vaccination or an approved exemption will be required as a condition of employment, if applicable.

This role will primarily be in the NYC Office and in the field, with occasional remote work.

Hours per Week:20-25 hours per week, from November 23, 2026, through March 5th, 2027

Working Hours:Staff will be assigned work hours that fall between 9am-7pm, Monday – Friday. It may require evening and weekend hours as needed.

Compensation:$18/hour

Employment Status: Part-Time, non-exempt, “at-will”
