Purchasing Associate - Direct Hire

OVERVIEW: Ensures company projects receive necessary equipment in a timely manner to maintain project schedule while sourcing from multiple vendors. Will be able to perform strategic procurement activities across multiple categories of spend, search for better deals and find more profitable suppliers
COORDINATES WITH: Vendors, Controller, Design Team, Operations Manager, Project Manager, Account Manager, Shop Manager, Project Lead, Accounting Associate, and CFO
KEY RESULT AREA’S (KRA’S):
1. Management:
- Ensure estimating software price list reflects current vendor price list while removing EOL and discontinued items
- Is responsible that purchasing for all project schedules are met
2. Efficiency:
- Achieve equipment purchases 100% of budgeted equipment costs excluding quick pay discount (QPD)
- Maintains appropriate levels of regular stock items (wire, etc.) in warehouse. Works with Design and Sales Manager(s) on keeping non-regular warehouse inventory below previous year’s $ value. If non-regular warehouse inventory increases 10% from previous fiscal year, then an action plan (and report) to reduce inventory will ensue.
3. Performance
- Negotiates additional discount(s) on top of normal vendor discount
- Maintains positive Vendor relationships
- Verifies accurate model numbers, current cost, for every project
- Achieves 100% of all available spiffs and discounts
- Tracks product delivery for required dates
4. Coordination
- Coordinates with Design Team on products
- Coordinates with sales department to purchase equipment for projects
- Coordinates with Operations Manager to provide equipment as needed to projects
- Sets up Lunch-and-Learn events for Sales and Design Teams
- Coordinates with engineering and production to meet schedules, deadlines, and to provide needed information
- Coordinates with Controller and CFO for cash flow management
- Escalate to CFO/Controller of any issues outside of project scope
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- 5 years’ experience in purchasing, preferably technology industry equipment
- Strong QuickBooks Desktop, Excel, Word, Outlook, and Microsoft Teams skills
- Operate with a sense of urgency and adept at prioritizing competing demands
- Initiative to own problems and resolve them; follow through is a top priority
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Detail oriented, conscientious, and strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Courteous and helpful manner with customers, vendors, and coworkers
- Professional appearance in dress
- Punctual and dependable
- Bachelor’s Degree (BS) in accounting or 4+ year’s equivalent experience
- Actively involved in continuing education to improve knowledge in A/V equipment
