Express Employment Professionals is partnering with a local client in East Baton Rouge to hire a precision-focused CNC expert through an evaluation-to-hire pathway. If you are energized by complex set-ups, clean code, and ship-on-time quality, this role is for you.
Role snapshot
- Location: East Baton Rouge
- Pay: 20–35 per hour
- Schedule: Rotating 2 weeks days (Mon–Fri, 7am–4pm), then 2 weeks nights (Mon–Thu, 3pm–1am, 10-hour shifts)
Core responsibilities
- Interpret drawings and 3D models to program, set up, and operate CNC mills
- Run equipment to strict quality standards and production goals
- Demonstrate sound workholding and efficient set-up techniques
- Leverage strong G and M code knowledge to improve cycle times and accuracy
- Validate programs and set-ups to sustain quality throughout the run
- Measure and record all required quality inspection data
Required experience and skills
- Willing to work all shifts; overtime and weekends as needed
- Able to lift 25 lbs
- Hands-on CNC milling background with meticulous attention to detail
Proficiencies
- Equipment troubleshooting and general troubleshooting skills
- CNC tooling selection and use
- CNC programming, including G-code and M-code
- Machine set-ups optimized for production runs
Equipment and software
- CNC mill (3–4 axis VMC)
- CNC lathe (2–4 axis)
- CAM software
