Job Title:
Software Engineer (Barclays)
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable software solutions for internal and customer-facing applications
- Collaborate with product owners, architects, and cross-functional teams to deliver features and improvements on time
- Write clean, maintainable code and participate in code reviews to ensure quality and adherence to standards
- Monitor and improve application performance, reliability, and security across the software lifecycle
- Troubleshoot production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement effective fixes and enhancements
Required Skills:
- Strong proficiency in at least one major programming language (e.g., Java, Python, C#, or
JavaScript/TypeScript)- Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design principles
- Experience with modern development practices (CI/CD, Git, automated testing, code reviews)
- Familiarity with cloud platforms and services (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization
(Docker/Kubernetes)- Knowledge of databases and query languages (SQL; familiarity with NoSQL is a plus)
Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
- 2+ years of software development experience (or relevant
internships/projects)- Experience building and supporting production applications using Agile/Scrum methodologies
