Role Snapshot

This onsite internship in Boise supports civil engineer and consulting teams by helping turn design intent into clear, buildable construction documents. You’ll contribute to quality, client-aligned deliverables while building practical experience alongside experienced staff.

Key responsibilities:
- Support civil design and plan review for construction projects, including prioritizing requirements and tracking updates
- Produce and refine design deliverables using AutoCAD/Civil 3D
- Assist with site observations and coordination, documenting progress and follow-ups
- Help keep project communication clear with internal teams and external stakeholders

Required qualifications/skills:
- Pursuing a Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering major (preferred)
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
- Strong written and verbal communication; willingness to learn; positive attitude
- Able to perform field-related physical demands, including lifting 25 lbs frequently and 50 lbs occasionally

Pay is $18–$22/hour (based on year in school), seasonal, Monday–Friday 9am–5pm. Apply to start your internship experience in Boise.

Your Typical Day

Your day starts in the Boise office by checking in with the project team on priorities and deadlines. You’ll spend focused blocks of time in AutoCAD and Civil 3D, updating sheets and details, then pause to compare markups against current files so changes are captured cleanly. Midday may include a quick coordination touchpoint with a consultant or contractor to confirm an open item and document the outcome. When site visits are scheduled, you’ll head out with a team member to observe progress, take notes and photos, and return to log follow-ups so the record stays organized. You’ll finish by packaging updated files for review and confirming next steps so projects keep moving from concept to construction.

Employment is contingent upon successfully passing pre-employment screenings. These checks are conducted in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
