Valabasas is a streetwear and denim brand opening its first store in Memphis on December 1, 2026, and we don’t want it to feel like a clothing store. We want luxury-house service: every guest greeted, a caf inside that’s part of every visit, a team that knows every piece, and regulars known by name. The clothes matter. The visit is what people come back for.
We’re looking for the Store Manager who will build that from day one.
What you’ll deliver, in order of importance
- The full opening team is hired and trained in time for December 1
- Everyone passes a check on our service standard, our product and checkout before their first shift
- The store opens on time, with the floor, the caf and our systems ready and rehearsed
- Guests love the visit and come back, measured by guest feedback and repeat visits
- The store hits a monthly sales plan we set together
- The team stays. At least 80% of the opening team is still with us at the end of March 2027
Why this job
- You’re the first hire. The team, the service standard and the culture are yours to build
- You work directly with the owners, so decisions take a conversation, not a chain of approvals
- You open a store from an empty floor, which most managers never get to do
What you’ve already done
- Run a store, boutique or hospitality venue as the person in charge, with sales and team results you can walk us through
- Hired, trained and built a service standard in luxury or premium retail, or in hospitality
- Strongly preferred: you’ve opened a store or venue, or hired most of a team at once
You’ll fit if
- You’d rather build a service culture than inherit one, and you develop the people you hire
- You do what you said, when you said, even through a first holiday season in a new store
- You’re honest, you own the result, you know the product inside out, and you treat every guest like family
The details
- Start as soon as you can in November. We’ll work with your notice period
- Retail hours, including weekends, holidays and drop days
- On your feet on the floor for most of a shift, and helping receive and move stock, with or without reasonable accommodation
