Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a stepdown unit, including monitoring and reassessing patient status
- Administer prescribed medications and therapies, evaluate responses, and document in the electronic health record
- Manage clinical equipment and therapies (telemetry, IVs, infusion therapies, and other modality supports) as ordered
- Collaborate with physicians, charge nurses, and interdisciplinary team to develop and update the patient care plan
- Ensure patient safety, comfort, infection prevention, and timely discharge planning; educate patients and families as appropriate
- Document accurately, communicate changes in condition, and advocate for appropriate escalation of care
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license
- Experience in stepdown or closely related acute care setting preferred
- Availability to work evening shifts (8 hours)
- Willingness to participate in a travel assignment (temporary/PRN)
- Strong clinical judgment and effective communication within a multidisciplinary team
