CES Distribution is seeking a motivated, experienced Operations Project Manager to work directly with our CEO and help drive projects throughout our business.

We're looking for someone who brings structure, accountability, and consistent execution to a growing list of company initiatives.

This isn't a position for someone who simply updates task lists. We need someone who takes ownership of projects and drives them toward completion.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management & Execution

• Manage multiple projects simultaneously using Wrike project management software.
• Develop project plans with clear objectives, responsibilities, milestones, and deadlines.
• Coordinate activities across purchasing, sales, customer service, accounting, warehouse operations, and outside vendors.
• Proactively follow up with team members to ensure commitments are fulfilled.
• Monitor project progress, anticipate delays, and identify potential problems before they become significant.
• Maintain accurate project documentation and provide clear visibility into project status.
• Drive projects from initial planning through successful completion.

Problem-Solving & Investigation

• Investigate stalled projects and identify the underlying causes of delays.
• Gather information from employees, departments, and outside vendors.
• Distinguish between operational obstacles, communication breakdowns, and issues requiring management intervention.
• Research potential solutions and recommend practical next steps.
• Document recurring problems and help develop lasting improvements.
• Take ownership of resolving project-related obstacles within the authority of the position.

Communication & Executive Reporting

• Work closely with the CEO to communicate project priorities, progress, and challenges.
• Provide concise, fact-based updates rather than simply reporting problems.
• Clearly identify obstacles, their impact, actions already taken, and recommended solutions.
• Escalate employee performance or behavioral concerns to the CEO with objective supporting information.
• Facilitate project meetings and ensure discussions result in clear action items.
• Maintain professional, productive relationships with employees and vendors.

Business Improvement & Leadership Growth

• Develop a working understanding of company operations and departmental responsibilities.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, communication, and efficiency.
• Help implement systems that strengthen organization and accountability.
• Collaborate with employees across departments to accomplish shared objectives.
• Demonstrate the judgment, initiative, and leadership skills necessary to earn broader responsibilities over time.

Qualifications

Required

• Proven experience managing projects, coordinating teams, or leading operational initiatives.
• Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and responsibilities.
• Experience using project management software or similar business management systems.
• Demonstrated problem-solving ability and willingness to investigate challenges independently.
• Confidence communicating with employees, vendors, and executive leadership.
• Strong follow-through and personal accountability.

Preferred

• 2+ years of relevant project management or operations experience.
• Experience working in a small or midsize business.
• Experience in distribution, manufacturing, logistics, or related operations.
• Familiarity with Wrike or similar project management platforms.
• Previous supervisory or team leadership experience.

A college degree or professional project management certification is not required. We value demonstrated ability, work ethic, and results over credentials.
