Job Title: General Laborer Location: Edison, NJ Type: Contract Compensation: $19.19 hourly Work Model: Onsite Hours: 8am-5pm Overview The Light Industrial Worker (General Laborer) performs a variety of hands-on tasks to support daily operations and maintenance activities. This position requires physical stamina, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Duties include material handling, site preparation, equipment operation, and general facility support.Responsibilities

  • Prepare work areas by removing debris, organizing materials, and maintaining safe workspaces.
  • Load, unload, transport, and store supplies, tools, and equipment.
  • Assist maintenance staff and skilled trades workers with assigned projects and daily operations.
  • Operate basic hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Move materials using pallet jacks, dollies, and other approved equipment.
  • Perform general cleaning and housekeeping duties to maintain an organized work environment.
  • Follow all workplace safety policies and wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Support facility operations by completing general labor tasks as assigned.
  • Report safety concerns, equipment issues, or hazards to supervisors promptly.
  • Maintain productivity while following established procedures and guidelines.
Requirements
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and perform physical labor for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds or more as needed.
  • Strong attendance record and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Basic knowledge of workplace safety practices.
  • Previous experience in general labor, warehouse, manufacturing, maintenance, or related fields is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to perform a variety of assigned tasks.
