A small, established manufacturer in Mentor that designs and builds custom inspection systems, gages, fixtures and airfoil tooling for automotive and aerospace customers is hiring a Sales / Applications Engineer. You’ll replace a long-time team member who is retiring, so there’s a real opportunity to step into a key role.
What you’ll do
- Work by phone and email with customer engineers to understand what they need to measure, hold or inspect
- Download and import customer CAD models into SolidWorks
- Sketch rough concept solutions in SolidWorks to show the customer
- Use Excel and our database to price jobs, then write and send quotes
- When an order comes in, process the PO and hand the solution off to our engineering team for detailed design
What we’re looking for
- Engineering degree (mechanical preferred) or equivalent hands-on experience
- 2+ years of SolidWorks, with strong solid modeling skills
- Experience with gages, inspection fixtures, tooling or similar custom equipment
- Strong communication and organization skills; comfortable on the phone with engineers every day
- Airfoil or airfoil tooling experience is a plus and would increase pay
