Position Overview
HiFyve is hiring a Structural Engineer for an established company in the crane rental, heavy lifting, and heavy construction industry. This position will focus on structural analysis, engineering design, and technical support for complex lifting operations, crane configurations, and heavy equipment projects.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in structural engineering, load calculations, and steel structures, with the ability to evaluate complex lifting scenarios and develop safe, practical engineering solutions.
Responsibilities
- Perform structural analysis and engineering calculations for crane operations, heavy lifts, and specialized rigging applications.
- Evaluate structural loads, load distribution, ground bearing pressures, and equipment configurations.
- Design and review structural steel components, lifting beams, spreader bars, support structures, and temporary structures.
- Develop and review engineered lift plans, drawings, and technical documentation.
- Analyze structural integrity, load capacities, and stability for various lifting applications.
- Utilize engineering software such as AutoCAD, RISA, STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, or similar programs.
- Collaborate with project managers, crane operators, field personnel, and customers to develop safe lifting solutions.
- Ensure engineering designs and calculations comply with applicable OSHA, ASME, AISC, and industry standards.
- Provide technical support for complex lifting projects and resolve engineering challenges.
- Review engineering drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
- Experience in structural engineering, steel design, or heavy construction applications.
- Strong understanding of structural analysis, load calculations, and engineering principles.
- Experience with structural design and analysis software.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work with field operations teams.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in the crane rental, heavy lift, rigging, or heavy construction industry.
- Background designing lifting devices, spreader beams, crane support structures, or temporary structures.
- Familiarity with crane load charts, lift planning, and rigging calculations.
- Experience with structural steel design and connection analysis.
- Knowledge of AISC, ASCE, OSHA, and ASME standards.
- PE licensure with structural engineering experience.
- Experience supporting large-scale industrial, infrastructure, or construction projects.
