Maitra Associates has an immediate opening for an experienced Electrical Inspectors! In this role, you will provide Construction Management and Inspection Services on Projects mainly involving electrical, electronics, electrical substations, high tension work, A/C utility service, ITS, security and camera system, fire alarm monitoring systems, fire suppression system, building management systems, intercom system, radio systems, microwave systems. Some knowledge of mechanical, civil, structural, and plumbing systems is beneficial.Some nighttime and overtime work required with premium pay. Apply Today!

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
  • Minimum 5 years' experience inspecting construction work, varied in size (projects ranging from $500k to $5 million plus) and complexity (multiple crews and crew sizes per shift).
  • OSHA 30-hour construction safety, and all protection, confined space, and permit-required confined space entry and certification in work zone safety
  • Ability to stay late or come in early as needed; night and weekend shifts will be required.
  • Ability to pass a Background Check
  • Valid Driver's license required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and written. You will need to communicate with the Resident Engineer, Contract Staff, and Facility staff both in person and via two-way communications.
  • Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications, and to prepare written contract administration documentation, such as daily narratives (work reports), special inspection reports, daily time-and-materials records, and document unit-price work. Identify potential extra work issues and keep the Resident Engineer advised.
  • Prepare estimates of extra work. Prepare related sketches and documentation. Review plans for constructability and prepare comments. Review contractor payment requests and recommend reasonableness to the Resident Engineer. Working knowledge of the latest National Electric Code and testing criteria for all types of electrical systems.
