Senior Accounting Manager

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accounting Manager to lead accounting operations and provide strong financial oversight for a client in Tulsa, Oklahoma. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate reporting, guiding compliance efforts, and delivering practical financial insight that supports operational and strategic decisions. The ideal candidate brings deep accounting expertise, strong leadership skills, and the ability to work closely with cross-functional partners to improve performance and strengthen financial processes.

Responsibilities:

• Direct the monthly close process and oversee core accounting activities to ensure timely, accurate financial reporting across supported operations.

• Review reconciliations, journal entries, and balance sheet activity to maintain strong control over the general ledger and overall accounting accuracy.

• Evaluate complex accounting matters such as inventory valuation, cost allocation, reserves, project-related accounting, and revenue treatment to support sound financial decisions.

• Work closely with auditors, finance specialists, and business leaders to address compliance obligations, strengthen controls, and reduce financial risk.

• Partner with operational, engineering, project, and commercial teams to identify performance trends, explain cost drivers, and improve profitability.

• Deliver meaningful analysis on manufacturing results, working capital, standard costing, inventory performance, and operational variances to support leadership decision-making.

• Lead efforts to streamline and modernize accounting and finance processes through standardization, automation, and the use of data-driven tools.

• Manage, coach, and develop accounting talent while promoting accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement across the team.

• 5+ years of experience in controllership, accounting leadership, manufacturing finance, cost accounting, project accounting, or a related finance function.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, internal controls, compliance standards, and technical accounting principles.
• Demonstrated experience managing month-end close, general ledger activity, account reconciliations, and journal entry review.
• Background supporting audits and preparing or reviewing financial statements in a complex business environment.
• Ability to build effective partnerships across departments and influence decisions at multiple organizational levels.
• Experience presenting financial analysis, forecasts, and business recommendations to leadership teams.
• Proven success leading teams, developing employees, and driving process or organizational improvement.
