Entry Level Logistics Assistant

Elbi of America, a tank manufacturer and wholesaler, is looking for an entry-level full-time logistics Coordinator for its Houston location. This position reports to Commercial Operations Manager.

We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented and Logistics Assistant to join our growing team. This role is responsible for ensuring that customer orders are processed accurately, freight is scheduled efficiently, and all shipping documentationspecifically Bills of Lading (BOL)is meticulously prepared.

This is an entry-level position open to recent graduates and students nearing graduation who are eager to kickstart their careers in logistics and supply chain management.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Documentation & Compliance: Prepare, review, and finalize Bills of Lading (BOL), packing lists, and other required shipping/export documentation.
• Freight & Carrier Coordination: Schedule inbound and outbound freight shipments; communicate with carriers to track shipments, resolve delays, and obtain freight quotes.
• Order Entry & Data Management: Accurately enter and process customer orders into our ERP/inventory management system, verifying pricing, quantities, and delivery dates.
• Tracking & Communication: Monitor shipment statuses and proactively communicate updates or potential delays to the sales and customer service teams.
• Inventory Support: Assist the warehouse team in reconciling physical inventory with system records to ensure order fulfillment accuracy.

What You Need to Succeed:

• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, Oracle) a plus
• Computer Savy- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• 2-4 years of college courses/experience preferred
• 0–1 year of experience in logistics, clerical, or administrative data entry.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel is preferred
• Strong understanding of freight terminologies, carrier networks (LTL, FTL), and BOL requirements is preferred
• High level of accuracy in data entry to prevent shipping errors and billing discrepancies.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for negotiating with carriers and collaborating with internal departments.
• Ability to handle high-volume transactions and tight deadlines
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills
