Legna Iron Works, Inc. is seeking a reliable and dependable Class C Non-CDL Truck Driver to join our team. We are a structural steel and miscellaneous metal fabrication company looking for a responsible driver to transport fabricated steel, railings, fencing, and other materials to job sites throughout the Chicagoland area and occasionally Wisconsin.
Experience preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate who has a valid Class C Non-CDL driver's license.
Responsibilities:
- Operate company flatbed trucks (19,000 lbs. GVWR).
- Deliver and pick up steel materials, fabricated products, and supplies from job sites and vendors.
- Properly secure and strap loads for safe transportation.
- Assist with loading and unloading materials when necessary.
- Perform daily vehicle inspections and report maintenance issues.
- Follow all DOT safety regulations.
- Coordinate deliveries and pickups with shop personnel and project managers.
- Assist with general shop duties when deliveries are not scheduled.
Requirements:
- Valid Illinois Class C Non-CDL driver's license required.
- Clean driving record.
- Flatbed driving experience preferred, but willing to train.
- Willingness to learn proper load securement and safe transportation procedures.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. when necessary.
- Dependable, punctual, and safety-conscious.
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions.
- Must meet applicable DOT driver requirements.
