Shift: 10:00 AM – 8:30 PM (Schedule details to be confirmed)
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Pay: $55/hr.
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – Telephone Triage to provide telephone-based clinical assessments, patient guidance, and care coordination. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of ambulatory, emergency department (ED), or inpatient experience, strong computer skills, and hands-on experience using the Epic electronic health record (EHR) system.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess patients' symptoms and healthcare concerns over the telephone.
- Use clinical judgment and established triage protocols to determine the appropriate level and urgency of care.
- Provide patient education, symptom management guidance, and self-care recommendations within the nursing scope of practice.
- Identify urgent or emergent symptoms and escalate care appropriately.
- Coordinate patient care, referrals, appointments, and follow-up services as needed.
- Document patient assessments, recommendations, and interactions accurately in Epic EHR.
- Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and follow organizational policies and clinical standards.
- Manage incoming calls efficiently while maintaining patient safety and quality of care.
Required Qualifications
- Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license applicable to the position.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in one or more of the following:
- Ambulatory care
- Emergency Department (ED)
- Inpatient nursing
- Hands-on experience using Epic EHR.
- Strong computer skills and comfort navigating electronic systems.
- Excellent telephone communication, patient assessment, and clinical decision-making skills.
