D.A. Alexander & Company, Inc. is seeking a dependable and experienced Landscape Equipment Operator to join our team. This position is responsible for safely and efficiently operating equipment to support landscape construction, site preparation, grading, and other outdoor construction projects. The ideal candidate has hands-on equipment experience, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and teamwork.
General Accountabilities
Safely operate equipment, including skid steers, compact track loaders, excavators, wheel loaders, dozers, and other machinery as assigned.
- Perform site preparation, rough and finish grading, earthmoving, excavation, and material handling.
- Assist with landscape construction projects, including soil preparation, drainage installation, and site development.
- Read and follow project plans, grade stakes, and site specifications as required.
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and identify maintenance or repair needs.
- Maintain equipment cleanliness and report mechanical issues promptly.
- Work collaboratively with project managers, foremen, and other crew members to complete projects efficiently.
- Follow all company safety procedures, OSHA requirements, and jobsite protocols.
- Assist with general labor and other jobsite duties when equipment operation is not required.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Job Qualifications
Previous experience operating equipment in landscaping, site work, excavation, or construction.
- Ability to safely operate equipment in varying terrain and jobsite conditions.
- Knowledge of basic equipment maintenance, inspections, and safe operating procedures.
- Ability to follow directions, communicate effectively, and work as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Valid driver's license required; a CDL is preferred if applicable to the position.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to lift, carry, bend, and perform physical labor as needed.
- Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
