Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)

Pay: $42 to $50 per hour, based on experience and credentials

About us
Mount Joseph at Waterville is a skilled nursing and assisted living community in central Maine. Our team cares for residents recovering from a hospital stay as well as those who call Mount Joseph home. We are looking for a Speech-Language Pathologist who wants to make a real difference in how our residents eat, communicate, and connect with the people around them.
What you'll do
Evaluate and treat residents with swallowing, speech, language, voice, and cognitive-communication disorders
Complete bedside swallow evaluations, recommend safe diet textures, and refer for MBSS or FEES when needed
Build individualized plans of care with clear, functional goals
Write timely, accurate documentation that meets Medicare and other payer rules
Train nursing and dietary staff on safe feeding strategies and communication techniques
Join care plan meetings and work closely with nursing, dietary, rehab, and families
What you'll need
Master's or doctoral degree in speech-language pathology
Maine SLP license, or a Maine temporary license for clinical fellows
CCC-SLP preferred
Experience in skilled nursing or with older adults preferred, but new grads and clinical fellows are welcome to apply
Compassion and patience for residents living with dementia, stroke, and other complex conditions
