**Launch a Career in Natural Gas Utility Operations as a Field Service Specialist! **
PDS Tech Commercial is seeking motivated Field Service Specialist to support the CenterPoint Gas Meter Project. This field-based position involves residential gas meter replacement, safety inspections, gas leak detection, and customer interaction while working independently throughout the service area.
All required training, Operator Qualification (OQ) certifications, uniforms, equipment, vehicle, and technology needed to successfully perform the role will be provided.
What You'll Do
Gas Meter Installation & Service
Read and remove existing residential gas meters.
Install and/or replace new Honeywell gas meters and regulators.
Build and modify gas meter loops.
Perform final meter testing and operational checks.
Safety & Leak Detection
Perform gas leak testing using company-provided combustible gas indicators.
Identify hazardous or abnormal operating conditions.
Repair gas leaks as required.
Customer Service & Documentation
Communicate professionally with utility customers.
Shut down and relight residential gas appliances.
Accurately document installations and field activity using a company-provided handheld device.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Ability to pass:
Ability to successfully complete OQ training, field evaluation, and certification. (Training will be approximately 6 weeks)
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently in the field.
Previous natural gas utility and or gas meter installation/repair experience preferred.
