Job Description

Job Description

The Long Ridge School seeks a creative, highly organized, and tech-savvy Communications & Operations Coordinator to join our close-knit administrative team.

This newly created position is an exciting opportunity for an early-career professional who enjoys writing, design, technology, problem-solving, and making things happen. We're looking for someone who is proactive, resourceful, eager to learn, and ready to take ownership of meaningful projects.

Working closely with the Head of School and collaborating across the administrative team, the Coordinator will play an important role in how our school communicates, organizes, and operates.

As a new role at Long Ridge, the position offers room to grow. Responsibilities will expand gradually as the successful candidate becomes familiar with the school and its systems, with opportunities to help shape processes, introduce efficiencies, and make a lasting impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Communications & Content Creation: Coordinate, write, edit, and publish school newsletters, our school magazine, and other communications. Create engaging graphics, presentations, and digital materials, and maintain website content.
  • School Operations & Project Coordination: Organize schoolwide activities, events, and special projects, managing details, timelines, and logistics from planning through completion.
  • Technology & Systems: Maintain digital information and databases, identify opportunities to improve workflows, and explore new technologies, including AI tools, to increase efficiency.
  • Administrative Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Head of School, Admissions, Advancement, and other colleagues on schoolwide initiatives while contributing to the daily operations of a small, collaborative school community.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Possess excellent writing, editing, and communication skills.
  • Be comfortable with technology and enthusiastic about learning new tools and platforms.
  • Have an eye for design and an interest in creating polished, engaging communications.
  • Demonstrate initiative, creativity, resourcefulness, and strong follow-through.
  • Enjoy working both independently and collaboratively in a warm, community-focused environment.

A bachelor's degree is required. Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Canva, website management, or similar tools is a plus. Experience in a school or nonprofit setting is welcome but not required.

We welcome candidates who are early in their careers and excited to grow professionally. Above all, we value initiative, curiosity, and a willingness to learn.
