Unit Information:

• Beds: 28 inpatient beds
  • Census: Average patients/day: 28

Minimum Years of Experience required: 3 years minimum of behavioral health
Will you accept a first-time traveler: Yes

Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:

• On-site assessments for patients coming in or referred here to determine level of care needed: Outpatient, inpatient, or partial hospitalization.
• Can see 5 years of age and older. Adults can be inpatient here if needed, children will be referred out.
• Psychosis, bipolar, schizophrenia, anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, general psych diagnoses
• No inmates, no forensics

Patient Ratios:

• Will see between 3-7 patients in a shift

Required License, National Certification, Certs:

• LPC, GA state license

• LCSW, GA state license
• BLS required, but can get certified on-site during orientation if candidate does not have it
• CPI, but will go through the class on site for full CPI class

Skills required:

• Assessment experience, signing 1013s (involuntary holds), comfortable making decisions independently, comfortable having hard discussions with patients and families, being calm, comfortable with deescalation, proficient with providing community resources (will be given resources once here), clinical documentation, making quick decisions,
• Will pair all inpatients with a psychiatrist to receive diagnoses
• Need to be comfortable being solo assessor as will be only one on shift

Support within the Department:

• Security on site 24/7. Everyone that comes in gets wanded and bags checked
• Panic buttons on badges
• Camera in assessment rooms
• Inpatient Manager on site
• Can call codes if needed
• Nurse for partial hospitalization program if need medical support

Technology/Equipment:

• EMR: EPIC preferred

• NEO
• 1-2 weeks of department orientation

Scheduling:

• Weekend rotation: None
• On call: No
• Holiday Expectations: None
• Approval of RTO: to go through manager
• Shift times: 0800-1630. Last assessment scheduled around 1500
• Schedule cycle: Monday Friday

• Scrub Color: Business casual, closed-toe shoes, professional. No strong perfumes or smells since this is in a small office space
