BCBA Job Description & Expectations
To the Moon ABA Therapy (TTM) is a BCBA-owned, woman-owned, and woman-led ABA organization committed to ethical practice, high-quality supervision, and supportive teamwork. We are seeking a BCBA who values hands-on, relationship-centered clinical work and wants to be part of a small, collaborative, highly supportive team.
This is a hybrid position (a mix of telehealth and in-person services), not a 100% remote role.

Position Overview
The BCBA/Clinical Supervisor provides assessment, treatment planning, parent training, and supervision of BTs/RBTs across Northern Virginia. The ideal candidate is experienced, passionate, and comfortable providing in-person supervision at least once per month, with additional in-person visits as clinically indicated.
Hybrid BCBAs are welcome; however, this is a hands-on role requiring real-time support, collaboration, and strong family partnership.

Work Expectations
In-Person Requirements
• Minimum of one in-person supervision visit per month per case
• Additional in-person overlaps as clinically necessary
• Ability to travel within Fairfax City, Fairfax County, Loudoun County, and surrounding service areas
• Attendance at quarterly TTM team events and gatherings
• No travel reimbursement provided, as this is a hybrid position

Remote / Telehealth Responsibilities
• Parent training
• Care coordination
• Document review
• Data analysis
• Clinical team meetings
• Treatment planning

Clinical Responsibilities
• Conduct initial and ongoing assessments (VB-MAPP, AFLS, EFL, and other clinically appropriate assessments)
• Develop individualized treatment plans and behavior intervention plans (BIPs)
• Provide monthly parent training, with increased frequency when clinically indicated
• Maintain responsive and professional communication with families
• Submit notes, treatment updates, and reauthorization materials in a timely manner
• Ensure programming decisions are data driven and focused on measurable progress
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary providers when appropriate

Supervision Responsibilities
• Provide supervision consistent with payer, BACB, and organizational requirements
• Conduct meaningful in-person overlaps as clinically indicated
• Model treatment strategies and provide real-time coaching to BTs/RBTs
• Review RBT session documentation regularly
• Complete competency assessments and performance feedback as required
• Support RBT development, confidence, and clinical growth
• Maintain treatment integrity across all assigned cases

Caseload & Hours
• Full-time positions generally require 25-30 billable hours per week
• New hires receive a transition period while caseloads are developed
• Ongoing expectations and caseload viability will be reviewed based on business and clinical needs

Collaboration & Teamwork
• Attend monthly clinical team meetings
• Participate in case reviews and clinical check-ins
• Communicate proactively regarding scheduling, caseload needs, and documentation timelines
• Maintain warm, professional, and respectful communication with staff, families, and community partners

Documentation Requirements
• Timely review of clinical documentation
• Ongoing feedback and support related to session documentation
• Monthly progress monitoring and data analysis
• Quarterly treatment plan reviews and updates
• Six-month authorizations and reauthorizations, as applicable
• Accurate data collection and documentation within approved systems
• Maintain accurate scheduling and calendar management

Ethical & Professional Expectations
• Maintain active BCBA certification and Virginia LBA licensure
• Adhere to the BACB Ethics Code and all applicable laws and regulations
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and safeguard confidential information
• Report mandated concerns within required timelines
• Notify leadership of outside ABA employment or potential conflicts of interest
• Provide advance notice of changes in availability or employment status

Culture & Values
At To the Moon ABA Therapy, we prioritize:
• Flexibility and work-life balance
• Grace and understanding during life circumstances
• A supportive, collaborative, female-led clinical team
• Ethical clinical decision-making over productivity quotas
• Warm, respectful partnerships with families
• Transparent communication and mutual respect
• Neurodiversity-affirming practices
• Ongoing professional development and lifelong learning
• Staying current with research and best practices
• Reflective clinical practice
• High-quality RBT development and hands-on mentorship

We are seeking a BCBA who aligns with these values and is excited to contribute to a workplace where clinicians feel supported, valued, and empowered to grow professionally while providing exceptional care to the families we serve.

Flexible work from home options available.
