Mechanical/Fire Protection Engineer

SALARY RANGE:$80,000 - $90,000 per year

In determining compensation, various factors will be considered, including but not limited to, educational background; relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, market factors; and geographic location.

GENERAL SUMMARY:Provide engineering and technical services to include but not limited to: technology insertion; performance specifications; system integration; installation support; on-site technical support, and alteration/repair support services in support of surface fleet, submarine, and shore-based installations in support of Hull, Mechanical and Electrical (HM&E) machinery and systems support to the US Navy. This position will be on-site work only.

LOCATION: West Bethesda, MD.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provides support to Naval personnel with the removal, installation, modification, repair, and troubleshooting of various HM&E Systems and components.
• Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures within a particular field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the function of the job.
• Must be able to read and interpret drawings and technical manuals.
• Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background check, drug screening, and obtain and maintain a security badge for all military installations and civilian shipyards.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical,
  Environmental, Systems Engineering, or System Safety
  Engineering

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

• Experience with the US Navy and environmental systems is preferred but not required
• Secret Security clearance preferred.
• Experience working with Environmental Systems is preferred but not required.
