Transmission Line Design Engineer
Location: Maple Grove, MN (Hybrid Eligible)

Our client, a leading electric utility cooperative, is seeking an experienced Transmission Line Design Engineer to support the design, engineering, and project management of high-voltage transmission line projects.
This position will focus on delivering safe, reliable, and cost-effective transmission line designs while collaborating with engineering, construction, permitting, and field operations teams.
Key Responsibilities
Design overhead transmission lines, primarily 69 kV and 115 kV systems.
Develop engineering drawings, specifications, and construction documentation.
Perform structural, loading, and clearance calculations in accordance with NESC standards.
Utilize PLS-CADD and MFAD for transmission line design and analysis.
Provide technical support during permitting, construction, and project completion.
Coordinate with land rights, permitting, engineering, and field operations teams.
Manage smaller transmission projects, including schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
Support the development of engineering standards and design specifications.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering preferred. Electrical or Mechanical Engineering degrees considered with 4+ years of transmission line design experience.
4+ years of engineering experience within the utility or related industry required.
7+ years of transmission line design experience strongly preferred.
Experience designing 69 kV and 115 kV transmission lines.
Strong proficiency with PLS-CADD and MFAD.
Knowledge of NESC standards and transmission line construction.
Experience with 200+ kV transmission lines is a plus.
FE/EIT certification required; PE license preferred.
Strong technical, communication, and project management skills.
