Role Description
The Electrical Design Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in the Atlanta Metropolitan Area.
This position is responsible for designing and developing electrical systems and power distribution layouts for new construction, renovations, and system upgrades.
Day-to-day tasks include creating detailed schematics and drawings, performing load calculations, selecting appropriate equipment and materials, and ensuring designs comply with codes, standards, and safety requirements.
The engineer will collaborate with project managers, other engineers, architects, and contractors to coordinate design intent and support installation and commissioning activities.
Additional responsibilities involve reviewing technical specifications, troubleshooting design issues, participating in design reviews, and providing clear documentation for internal teams and external stakeholders.
Qualifications:
Strong skills in Electrical Design and Electrical Engineering, with the ability to develop compliant and efficient system layouts.
Proficiency in Design Engineering for building or industrial projects, including interpreting plans and integrating electrical systems into overall designs.
Solid understanding of Electricity and Power Distribution principles, including load balancing, fault protection, and system reliability.
Experience with relevant design tools and software (e.g., CAD platforms, electrical modeling or calculation tools).
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field; professional licensure (EIT/PE) is a plus.
Knowledge of applicable electrical codes and standards (such as NEC and local regulations).
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills, with attention to detail and safety.
Ability to work on-site, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
