The opportunity

Rooted Oaks Ranch is looking for a Wellness Director to shape and lead the body-based, holistic side of our programming. You will build a wellness offering that sits alongside our clinical work not as an add-on, but as an essential part of how guests rest, regulate, reconnect, and heal.

You will lead a community of per diem practitioners (yoga, sound, Reiki, energy healing, nutrition, and wellness), make sure every session fits the Rooted Oaks curriculum and guest experience, and partner closely with our Clinical Director so wellness and clinical care work hand in hand.

What you’ll do

  • Design, build, and oversee wellness programming across retreats, workshops, day programs, and community offerings.
  • Partner with the Clinical Director to integrate somatic, movement, mindfulness, and nutrition practices into clinical retreats and intensives in a trauma-informed, scope-appropriate way.
  • Recruit, vet, onboard, and schedule per diem wellness practitioners; verify credentials, insurance, and fit with our values.
  • Set quality standards for wellness sessions and give practitioners clear guidance, feedback, and support.
  • Map wellness experiences to each stage of the Rooted Oaks guest journey so every retreat feels cohesive from arrival to departure.
  • Work with the Retreat Director and program team on the annual calendar, staffing, and on-site flow of each retreat.
  • Be present on-site during retreats and events welcoming guests, holding space, and stepping in where needed.
  • Track wellness supplies, space needs, and practitioner scheduling; contribute to program budgets and planning.
  • Gather guest feedback and use it to refine and grow our wellness offerings.
  • Develop new wellness-centered offerings and represent Rooted Oaks at community events and with local partners.

What you bring

  • 5+ years of experience in wellness programming, integrative health, retreat leadership, or a related field.
  • Experience leading, scheduling, or supervising practitioners or contractors.
  • Training or certification in at least one wellness modality (for example yoga, mindfulness or meditation, somatic practices, breathwork, health coaching, or nutrition).
  • A working understanding of trauma-informed care and the ability to collaborate respectfully with licensed clinicians.
  • Strong organization, follow-through, and communication; comfortable with scheduling tools and shared documents.
  • Bachelor’s degree in health, wellness, kinesiology, psychology, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience with retreat centers, equine programs, or nature-based programming is a plus.
  • Current CPR/First Aid (or willingness to obtain).

Who you are

  • A builder who loves creating something new and seeing it come to life.
  • A calm, warm leader who brings out the best in practitioners and guests alike.
  • Someone who sees wellness and clinical healing as partners, and respects what each brings.
  • Flexible and steady in a growing organization where you’ll help write the playbook.
